DERO

The beginning of the Polish school of spine treatment.

LfC created the first Polish system for surgical treatment of the spine. It was developed in response to the real needs of surgeons and patients struggling with pain, injuries and limited mobility.

The history of the system began with the collaboration of surgeons and engineers, for whom their experience in the operating theatre was the starting point for designing medical technology.

The system was created by the CEO of LfC, Lechosław F. Ciupik, PhD, Eng. – an engineer who combined technical expertise with a profound understanding of surgical practice. His vision was rooted in the belief that technology should support the surgeon and serve the patient, rather than complicate the treatment process.

The LfC Spinal System stood out for its simple design and universal application. It enabled the treatment of various spinal disorders and promoted the development of new surgical methods. In clinical practice, it became the basis for a new approach to spinal surgery in Poland.

An important element of its development was also a training programme that supported the exchange of knowledge and experience between specialists. Around this idea, the Polish DERO Group Association was established, bringing together surgeons and engineers involved in the responsible development of modern medicine.

The system developed by LfC has earned its place in history as a significant milestone in the development of Polish biomedical thought. It stands as a prime example of successful collaboration between science, engineering, and clinical practice, which has substantially influenced the treatment of spinal disorders both in Poland and abroad.
